The RBGFix-security platform allows the maintenanceand service staff a safe access to the storage and retrieval machine within the high-bay storage. Pending repair- and maintenance works at the storage and retrieval machine can be carried out safely and quickly with the RBGFix without set-up efforts and unnecessary downtimes of the storage and retrieval machine. This saves both time and money, and additionally increases significantly the safety at the high-altitude workstation. The modular and flexible applicable construction kit of the RBGFix-security platform facilitates the preventive maintenance, and thus increases the productivity of the high-bay storage. For this purpose the individual modules are loaded one by one on the lifting device of the RBG, then moved vertically alongside the pylon/pole (Mast) and finally put down in the correct storage compartment. Then they are firmly clamped to the rack. (high bay) by means of the patented clamping mechanism. Thus you get a temporarily usable working platform in order to check and/or exchange wear parts, and carry out safely service- and maintenance works.

Overview

With the presented modules of the RBGFixsecurity platform we configure for you an individually adjustable solution for the safe and fast maintenance of your storage and retrieval machine.

Entry module

The entry module of the RBGFix-security platform© with integrated fall protection according DIN EN ISO14122, a self-closing secured access door and the patented locking mechanism, allows the service- and maintenance staff a fall-safe working at the upper undercarriage of the storage and retrieval machine (RGB).

The entry module is generally required for any operation in order to guarantee the intended use.

The extension locks every 100 mm

The extension module of the RBGFix-security platform© with integrated fall protection according DIN EN ISO14122 is equipped with a mechanical extension and the patented locking mechanism and allows the service- and maintenance staff a fall-safe working at the upper undercarriage of the storage and retrieval machine (RBG). The extension module increases the usable work area by more than 30% and allows to work directly at the pylon/pole (Mast).

Thus the gap between rack row and storage and retrieval machine (RBG) is closed, which facilitates the ergonomic handling of heavy spare parts for example. 

The extension module can be individually configurated, and can be used centrally or as final module of the RBGFixsecurity platform.

Bridge module with docking module

The bridge module of the RBGFix-security platform© with integrated fall protection according DIN EN ISO14122 is equipped with telescopic bridge elements and the proven locking mechanism, and complete the RBGFix-security platform construction kit. In combination with the opposite docking module, the bridge module allows the service- and maintenance staff a fall-safe working at the upper undercarriage of the storage and retrieval machine (RBG).

A maximum enlargement of the RBGFix-security platform is possible by the telescopic bridge elements, and thus encircle the storage and retrieval machine in the aisles between the storage racks. So the gap between the opposite rack rows is closed and the aisle is bridged. Now both sides of the aisle can be handled safely, which facilitates a fast and cost efficient working at the storage and retrieval machine (RBG)

Legal information

Statutory basis for the operator

According to the EU-definition, an operator is defined as any natural or legal person operating or possessing an installation, or to whom the decisive economic power over the technical operation of the installation has been delegated – if this is provided for by national law (1999/13/EG). In this sense private, public and semi-public owners are considered as operator. The operator bears the responsibility and at the same time shall be liable in the event of damage in case of non-compliance with a provision (Jörg Fritzsche 2015)

Legal basis for the operator

The legal basis as well as the obligation of the operator of automated high-bay storages for work carried out at a height, are derived from the following regulations, and are binding:

  • EU-directive (2001/45/EG):
    Provisions for the use of work equipment provided for temporary work carried out at a height.
  • Working Conditions Act (ArbSchG):
    1. Working processes have to be organised in such a way that any threat to human life and health should be avoided and the remaining threat is minimised as much as possible.
    2. Hazards should be dealt with at source.
    3. The measures should be taken in consideration of the state of the art.

  • Accident prevention regulations + Set of rules and regulations of the Professional Association
